Clothes Closet Team volunteers serve directly with guests by providing a warm, welcoming, and dignified shopping experience. Volunteers assist guests as they select clothing, accurately count items based on program guidelines, and ensure all items are recorded correctly. This role requires hospitality, attention to detail, and the ability to kindly enforce limits while helping each guest feel respected and supported.

Support CRC by helping hang and organize clothing for our Clothes Closet. Volunteers will hang donated items, arrange them by size and gender, and help keep the Clothes Closet stocked for families to shop. This is a simple, hands‑on role that makes a meaningful difference in creating a dignified experience for our community.

Warming Station when needed

Mid-Day Volunteers support the pantry during one of our busiest service periods and continue assisting through closing time. This team helps serve guests, restocks shelves as needed, provide lunch breaks for the All-Day volunteers, and provide support wherever needed to ensure smooth operations and a positive experience for our guests throughout the afternoon.

The Truck Driver is responsible for safely transporting donated food using a trailer and coordinating timely pickups and drop-offs. This role requires dependability, punctuality, and the ability to organize and lead a small team during unloading. Responsibilities include picking up food donations from Walmart in Lafayette, GA, transporting them to CRC for organized unloading and accurate weighing by food type, and then continuing to Walmart in Trion, GA for additional pickups. Attention to safety, organization, and teamwork is essential to ensure donations are handled efficiently and properly recorded.

We are looking for churches to provide and serve lunch for our Getting Ahead class beginning January 6, 2026. Lunch is served Tuesdays from 12:00–12:30 PM for 16–20 weeks.

Church partners will prepare a meal, share lunch, and engage in conversation with participants during this 30-minute window. This is a great opportunity to build relationships and help participants connect with local churches.

Please plan to clean up and exit by 12:30 PM. Church members will not remain for the class.

Front Desk volunteers serve as the first point of contact for our guests and play a key role in creating a welcoming, respectful environment. This role requires strong hospitality skills, computer knowledge, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting. Volunteers sign in guests, update basic information, and prepare shopping guides used during pantry visits.

Checkout Desk volunteers ensure each guest receives the correct items listed on their shopping guide by accurately counting and verifying all pantry items. This role requires the ability to work well under pressure, communicate clearly, and be respectfully assertive when enforcing pantry guidelines. As the final point of contact, Checkout volunteers also help ensure every guest leaves feeling respected, supported, and seen.

Morning Volunteers help prepare the pantry for the day by completing essential behind-the-scenes work before guests arrive. This team assists with sorting donations, stocking shelves, organizing produce, coolers, freezers, and bakery items, and ensuring all areas are clean, safe, and ready for service. This role is hands-on, fast-paced, and vital to making sure the pantry runs smoothly when open.

Afternoon Volunteers support pantry operations during active service hours by helping guests, restocking shelves as items run low, and stepping in wherever help is needed to keep things running smoothly. This team helps bridge the gap between preparation and closing, ensuring guests continue to have a positive, dignified experience throughout the day.

Short Morning Shift volunteers jump in during the busiest part of the morning when food deliveries arrive and sorting is in full swing. This role helps unload donations, sort food quickly, and keep the work moving so the pantry can stay on schedule. It’s a fast-paced, hands-on shift that makes a big impact in a short amount of time.

The Load Assistant supports the Truck Driver during food rescue pickups by assisting with loading and unloading donated food. This role requires teamwork, physical ability, and attention to organization so that donations are unloaded at CRC in an orderly manner for accurate weighing by food type. Load Assistants help ensure pickups run smoothly, safely, and on schedule.

Midmorning Volunteers support the pantry during one of the busiest service periods as the main guest rush moves through. This team assists shoppers, helps restock shelves as needed, and provides coverage so All Day Volunteers are able to take a lunch break. Their flexibility and willingness to jump in wherever needed help keep the pantry running smoothly and guests well served.

Short Afternoon Shift volunteers jump in during the afternoon to provide extra support when it’s needed most. This role includes assisting guests, restocking shelves, helping with cleanup as needed, and stepping in wherever extra hands are required to keep the pantry running smoothly. It’s a great way to make a big impact in a short amount of time.

End of the Day Team volunteers arrive near closing time to provide relief where needed and help the pantry finish the day strong. Responsibilities include assisting shoppers, restocking shelves, and supporting pantry operations during the final service period. After closing, this team ensures all closing and cleaning checklists are completed, including properly putting away produce and bakery items, wiping down tables, sweeping and mopping floors, and preparing the pantry for the next service day.
